By controlling our dreams, we can actually experience astral projection. The main disadvantage of this method is that it takes a lot of time and effort to get there, but, on the other hand, you can have an OOBE almost every night, or every time you fall asleep. Remember the Nightmare on the Elm street movie? Well, you don’t have to be so scared, because, you will also be guided to take as many precautions as you can to make this experience a pleasant one.
Daily schedule should include relaxation and concentration training during the day, and practicing dream control during the night.
As mentioned in previous article, you need to get a notebook or a diary. Always write on the paper with a pencil or a pen. Avoid using your smartphone. The bright light can and will awaken you, and you will remember much less things from your dreams.
Once you have chosen to get a diary and pen, keep it beside your bed, in such a way so that you can easily reach it while moving as little as you can in your bed. Once you wake up, try to remember what did you dream. Just write as much as you can remember. Write about where you were, who you were with, what did you say, hear, read or write. Don’t get disappointed if you cannot write more than one sentence at first. We often forget our dreams. It takes a little effort, but everyone can learn how to remember dreams.
The next thing for you to do once you can remember more than 90% of your dreams, is to try to construct the dream of your choice. Be very decisive about who will you dream of, where will you be at, what will you do. A first, try to keep it simple, for example, I will dream that I am with my grandfather in the house where I grew up, fixing the bicycle in garage. This is a scene you probably lived through already, and is buried deep into your brain. The brain will easily pick it up as a topic for your next dream. It is recommended that you write this all down on a piece of paper and put it under your pillow. For some people it helps if they read it over and over again until they fall asleep.
After dreaming the desired dream, you can move on to the next dream. You can now add other details, and move on to the complicated dream once you notice requested details in your dream. This can take a few weeks and up to three months.
After that, you should be able to determine when and where to wake up. You have to set this point in your dreams in order to have a “safe house” available in the case if something goes wrong. This is important part of astral projection – to get back to your physical body. Your wake up call can be the moment when you look at your watch, or when your favourite music starts playing. At first, you will only dream this moment and waking up would be a hard thing to do. When it is hard to wake up, just visualize your body lying in the bed, with the silvery rope connecting both of your plexuses, and try to send a message through that silvery cord, try to shout “Wake up!”. It may sound silly, but it works.
The next thing to do is to visit unfamiliar places. Choose a place that is nearby, but you haven’t visited there yet. Dream first, check later. This will give you a great boost of motivation to endure this boring training. After that, you are free to roam.
Before each astral projection, keep in mind that your trip has to be safe. Safe from possible intruders, evil forces, elementals, etc., especially when you wish to heal someone on the astral plane, you are open to his or hers “demons”, which resonate in our soul. They will see the fresh energy and try to connect with you. Don’t trust nothing which gives you the feeling of sorrow, anxiety, anger or fear. Trust only yourself.
